Hi! I'm Rachael, Beyond the Veil's Spiritual Coach providing direction for children and adolescents.

I focus on children aged 6 to 18, aiming to develop a unique approach that integrates spiritual practices. I have chosen this career because I have a deep passion to be a healer for children. To paraphrase a favorite quote, “the last step to healing is to take everything you’ve been through and use it to heal others”. I have a heart for helping teenagers because of my own experiences with chronic illness that challenged me to transform both physical and emotional pain to find my own freedom.

Currently, I support children and adolescents who have faced stressful situations and need help healing and rebuilding resilience. My approach combines Reiki, spiritual art expression, practical solutions, and spiritual guidance to address their unique needs and foster their recovery. By weaving spiritual exploration into these activities, I help children connect with nature and their inner selves, promoting resilience and a deeper sense of purpose. â€‹â€‹

I guide clients towards:

Expression through Spiritual Art: I use spiritually guided art approaches to help children process their emotions and explore their inner world. Through art activities infused with spiritual themes, I encourage them to connect with their inner selves and explore their sense of purpose and meaning on a deeper level.

Empowering with Spiritual Insight: I focus on identifying and nurturing solutions rather than just addressing problems. By incorporating spiritual insights, I empower children to uncover their own answers and strengths, aligning their solutions with their deeper values and beliefs, and supporting their personal journey.

Spiritual Support: I assist children in understanding and coping with loss by integrating spiritual practices into their healing process. By guiding them to find comfort and meaning in their grief, I help them connect with their sense of spirituality, fostering a more profound and supportive healing journey.

Holistic Transformative Care for Children & Adolescents: I offer specialized support to help children and adolescents process and heal from experiences. By incorporating spiritual elements into their care, I aid in rebuilding safety, trust, and resilience, and guide them in finding meaning and hope throughout their recovery journey, promoting a holistic and spiritually enriched healing process.

My Story

Transformation can be really tough and even more so for children who feel like they’re going through it alone. They might make significant changes and learn important things about themselves, but it can feel like others around them don’t notice or even miss the old version of them. Having someone who understands how transformation works and can support them as they let go of old ways and discover new ones can be incredibly reassuring. In my work, I aim to be that supportive guide, helping children navigate their journey and uncover their true selves with empathy and understanding.

I’m the oldest of two, with a sister who’s six years younger. Growing up in a conservative religious home and school, I often felt stifled when it came to expressing my own thoughts and feelings. Thankfully, I eventually discovered creative outlets like art, photography, writing, and acting. My journey began when I went camping at the end of 8th grade before starting high school. The place they drove our class to was affectionately known as “Tick Valley”. I was never the same after that. I was constantly lethargic, lived with horrible joint pain, and every day, every single day, for over six years I had a headache. My life became a constant sound bite, a confession of never feeling good. I went to countless doctors and had countless tests. I was told I was depressed because I wasn’t popular, that I was seeking attention, and told to just "get over it." I was forced to accept my new normal, my constant fatigue, and pain. I didn’t receive an answer to what was happening to me until I was twenty. I was diagnosed with Lyme Disease, and at first, I was ecstatic. I felt validated. I wasn’t crazy. I had an answer, and then, systematically, one by one, as the doctor broke the news to me about what my life would look like going forward, I watched every dream I had set for myself vanish. Lyme Disease is chronic, is a silent pandemic, and it can kill you or make you wish you were dead. It attacks the nerves, tissue, bones, joints, ligaments, and organs. It attacked my brain. This led to dropping out of college and quitting work, setting me on a challenging path of treatment.

For years I moved from doctor to doctor trying to find a treatment plan that would make me normal, that would force this ravaging disease into submission, and would allow me to be me once again. For years, I was largely isolated, facing intense grief and confusion.

Every time I gained a little ground toward feeling like a ‘functioning member of society’, I would take classes to try and to pretend to be ‘normal’, but almost always, it felt like an impossible task. My experience with Lyme Disease was a pivotal "Tower" moment for me, where everything felt like it was falling apart, and I was completely undone. This challenging time greatly shaped my approach, expanding my empathy and enabling me to see life from diverse perspectives. This insight helps me provide clients with fresh viewpoints and break through their fixed patterns of thinking. Additionally, my personal journey of rediscovering myself equips me to deeply understand and support clients facing chronic issues or significant personal transformations.

Eventually, I turned to homeopathy, which brought relief, both physical and emotional, and set me on a journey towards spiritual awakening. This path led me to essential oils, crystal healing, and a deeper connection with myself. In 2018, I finally pushed my Lyme into remission; I haven’t looked back! I wanted to live life and pursue things I had been too afraid to do in my youth. I turned to acting and it became a kind of therapy for me. It taught me that despite our differences, there is always at least one single point of commonality that you can use to connect and grow in understanding. The experience also taught me that I enjoy the one on one/small group connections that come from working closely with others because you can see and watch as they heal and grow. I believe this experience translates well to the role of spiritual coach. Often, it is easy to feel like the person you want to be, or the life you want to have, is far outside your grasp and it can make the idea of healing seem daunting because you don’t think you will ever obtain it. Though it can be a difficult task to find your way through, it is both possible and deeply rewarding.

I believe I can make a significant difference working with you and your family because I have the desire, passion, and empathy needed to help others. Through my journey spirituality has been a light in the darkness always guiding me, keeping me moving forward, slowly but surely. What I like to call My Circle Guidance, has led me to some amazing people, some tough growths, and some life altering experiences - including going for my masters!

While my degrees are not directly connected to my role as a spiritual coach, the experiences I have gone through in the process of pursuing them have transformed me and allowed me to learn the truths of who I am and who I want to be. I’ve embraced spiritual counseling, numerous awakenings, and Reiki attunements. My passion now is helping others navigate their own dark times. I work with children, young adults, and their families to process trauma, emotions like grief or betrayal, and difficult life changes.  I use techniques such as mindfulness, guided meditations, breathwork, and art to create a safe space for healing and growth.
