Craniosacral Therapy
Cranial sacral therapy (CST) is a non-invasive, gentle hands on technique that focuses on manipulation of the bones in the skull, spinal column and sacrum to improve the flow of cerebral spinal fluid and support optimal central nervous system functioning. These techniques can remove blockages in the flow of cerebral spinal fluid and enhance the body's ability to heal. CST can be an effective part of the treatment plan for disorders such as:
-
Autism
-
Migraines
-
Mood disorders
-
GI issues (constipation, IBS)
-
Discomfort during pregnancy
-
Sinus infections
-
Fibromyalgia
-
Neck pain, including from whiplash
-
Colic/ear infections in infants
-
TMJ
-
Scoliosis
Medical history will need to be provided prior to treatment. This is not for individuals with a history of aneurysms, CVA, bleeding disorders, or traumatic brain injuries.

Sensory Therapy
Sensory Integrative therapy was developed by Jean Ayres, P.hd, OTR/L in the 1970's as a patient led modality to empower individuals to integrate and process overwhelming sensory data more effectively. Originally used with children and people with severe difficulties in processing sensory input (such as those on the Autism spectrum), this form of therapy has expanded to be used effectively with individuals with dementia. SI therapy can be helpful for anyone struggling to cope with the overwhelming sensory stimuli in daily life, with or without a specific diagnosis. This form of therapy will teach techniques and skills to reduce overwhelm from stimuli and includes:
-
Screening and assessment to determine which sensory systems are over and under reactive
-
Activities and exercises done in session with an occupational therapist to promote integration of input and promote optimal nervous system function
-
Recommendations on modifications to environment or activities to reduce sensory overwhelm
-
A sensory diet, which is a home program with specific activities and exercises to be done to promote optimal nervous system function and reduce episodes of sensory overwhelm.
-
Mindfulness techniques such as yoga, breath work, etc.
